The History of the HU Queer Press

The original HU Queer Press created a zine called State of the Gay in 2011. It started with a journey to visit an old friend in Chicago, then morphed into the dream of starting a movement. Once the anonymous zine was completed and released, it was blocked from Harding servers, which sparked the interest of the media.

Now it is being reborn.

About Us

Though we are a new group of students with new ideas, we still have the same goal: the acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community. We want this publication to spark honest and intelligent conversations that will hopefully lead to change, not only in attitude, but in policy. We want to be a safe haven for queer students to make their voices heard.

We want to say that we are here. We are queer. We are Harding.
